Tarrant High School’s Twilight Program Named a 2024 Banner School

Tarrant High School’s Twilight Program has been recognized as a 2024 Banner School, a prestigious honor awarded to programs that demonstrate exceptional commitment to student success and achievement. This recognition celebrates the hard work of our dedicated staff, the perseverance of our students, and the support of our families and community.

The Twilight Program offers an alternative pathway for students to earn their high school diploma by providing flexible hours, personalized instruction, and a supportive learning environment. Designed to remove barriers that may stand in the way of graduation, the program has empowered students to stay on track, meet their goals, and prepare for life after high school.

This recognition is more than just an award—it’s a testament to the belief that every student can succeed when given the right support and opportunities. Our Twilight students work incredibly hard, and our staff goes above and beyond to help them succeed. We are proud to be recognized as a Banner School and even prouder of the futures being built right here at Tarrant High.

As we celebrate this accomplishment, we look forward to continuing our mission of offering second chances, new beginnings, and bright futures for every student who walks through our doors.

Bold Goals Coalition shares current vaccine resources

As we continue our COVID recovery, the Bold Goals Coalition wants to share current vaccine resources with you and ask that you continue to utilize and promote these resources within your network.

Within Jefferson County, the Jefferson County Department of Health is managing a Vaccine Call Center, at 205-858-2221, where people can get appointments for multiple vaccination sites, including the Birmingham Airport, the Crossplex and the new FEMA site at Watermark Place near Alabama Splash Adventure in Bessemer. Flyers are available in English and Spanish for the new Bessemer site, and we would love for you to share and promote that resource.

The Call Center is open 8am-8pm Monday-Saturday, and staff is able to provide free transportation to a vaccination site for Jefferson County residents. JCDH.org also has additional information on vaccination sites and online vaccination scheduling.

For residents outside of Jefferson County, the Alabama Department of Public Health website has information for finding local vaccine clinics and a process for scheduling an appointment at https://alcovidvaccine.gov/ .
