Welcome to the 21st Century Community Learning Center (K-6)!!
Mission:
Tarrant City Schools operates a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant at Tarrant Elementary School that provides extended day programming for kindergarten through sixth grades. The grant is for $150,000 per year for 3 years (based on federal funding). Funding for this project began on October 1, 2020.
Grant funding allows the site to eliminate student participation fees while offering high-quality academic and enrichment services, low student to teacher ratios, and valuable opportunities for parental involvement. The Tarrant 21st Century program has partnered with Sylvan Learning Centers to provide scientifically-research based academic instruction that is specific to each student's individual need. Students will work with a Sylvan tutor (K-3rd) or a certified teacher from Tarrant (4th-6th) in small groups twice per week, and will be offered approximately 60 total hours of tutoring in reading by the end of the school year. Qualified high school student workers, college students, and adult group leaders work with students daily to assist with homework completion, supervise free play, and facilitate games and enrichment activities.
Services are available Monday through Friday on the campus of Tarrant Elementary School from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
