I am Mrs. Leonard and I teach 5th grade Math and Language.  In late November 2016, I was hired to teach 6th grade Math at Tarrant Intermediate School.  I loved the challenge of teaching a new grade level.  However, my true love is 5th grade!  Prior to teaching in Alabama, I taught 5th grade for nineteen years in the Cartwright School District in Phoenix, Arizona. 

My husband and I, along with our three daughters, moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Trussville in June 2012 to be closer to my husband's family.  Our oldest daughter is preparing to be a high school Math teacher at Jacksonville State University.  Our middle girl is enjoying her last year in high school and is planning on attending Samford University.  Our youngest daughter is just beginning her high school career and is undecided, as of yet, on her future career ambitions.  We share our home and lawns with four dogs, a cat, three parakeets, and a dozen chickens.  If you ask any of my students, they will tell you, I love chickens!!!  Hence, I welcome my students to my Coop where they become Flock Stars!
