The mission of the Office of Human Resources is to recruit, select, develop, and retain a high quality workforce committed to providing the very best educational experience for the students of the Tarrant City Schools.
The Human Resources Office is located at 1318 Alabama Street, Tarrant, Alabama 35217. Our telephone number is (205)849-3700. Our office hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.

APPLYING FOR CERTIFIED POSITIONS:
Applicants for teacher/administrative supervisory vacancies must complete an online application. Please go to www.alsde.edu/Teachin Alabama to apply online. Paper applications/resumes are no longer accepted by the Tarrant City Schools for these positions.
Administrative positions include: Principals, Assistant Principals and other administrative/supervisory positions.
Certified positions include: Teachers, Psychologists, Media Specialist, Speech Therapists, Counselors
APPLYING FOR CLASSIFIED POSITIONS:
Classified employees help to secure the safety, health, and well being of the students who attend the Tarrant City Schools. Classified personnel provide the service and support that our schools need to function properly and efficiently. They clean our buildings, prepare meals, maintain our facilities, operate computer labs, work with special needs students, provide administrative support, and maintain records and information.
Classified positions include: Paraprofessionals, Nursing Staff, Social Workers, Child Nutrition Workers and Custodians.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS AND CHILD NUTRTION PROGRAM WORKERS:

Media Specialist(TIS) - Must hold current Alabama Certification in Library-Media grades P-12.
Elementary Teacher (TIS) - Contract position for maternity leave for 4th grade February - end of 2020-2021 school year. Must hold current Alabama Certification in Elementary Education grades K-6.
Physical Therapist - Contracted part-time position. Must hold current State of Alabama Physical Therapist Licensure.
Special Education Teachers - Must have current Alabama Certification in Special Education grades K-6 and/or grades 6-12.
Bookkeeper (THS) - Associate's Degree or higher in Accounting/Business Preferred. Previous experience with computerized accounting systems. Must pass ALSDE Background Clearance.
VACANCIES FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022
Elementary/Intermediate Teachers - Must hold current Alabama Certification in Elementary grades P-3 or K-6.
Elementary Intervention Teachers - Must hold current Alabama Certification in Elementary grades K-6.
Secondary Intervention Teachers -Must hold current Alabama Certification in Secondary Core Subjects grades 6-12.
Media Specialist (TIS) - Must hold current Alabama Certification in Library-Media grades P-12.
Special Education Teachers - Must hold current Alabama Certification in Special Education grades P-3, K-6 or 6-12.
Secondary General Science Teacher - Must hold current Alabama Certification in General Science grades 6-12.
Secondary General Social Science Teacher - Must hold current Alabama Certification in General Social Science grades 6-12.
Secondary Mathematics Teacher -Must hold current alabama Certification in Mathematics grades 6-12.
Secondary English Teacher -Must hold current Alabama Certification in English 6-12.
English as a Second Language Teachers - Must hold current Alabama Certification in ESL P-12.
Paraprofessional - Instruction (Self Contained Classroom) - High school diploma or GED. Must hold Associate's Degree or have completed a minimum of 48 semester hours of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education or have sucessfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approved WORKKEYS. Must pass ALSDE Background Clearance.
Paraprofessional - Instruction - High school diploma or GED.
