    The Tarrant City School System provides a high-quality Pre-K program at Tarrant Elementary School.

    Focused on preparing children for kindergarten, the program offers authentic and meaningful learning experiences to support early academic success for 4-year-olds.

    The Pre-K program is available to all four-year-old children who are zoned in Tarrant City. To be eligible, students must turn four years old on or before September 1st of the current school year. Due to limited spaces, enrollment is determined by a random drawing to ensure a fair selection process.

    Key features include:

    • Rigorous early learning standards.
    • Pre-K teachers with at least a bachelor's degree.
    • Specialized training for Pre-K teachers in early childhood education.
    • Assistant teachers with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent qualification.
    • Ongoing professional development for teachers.
    • A maximum class size of 18 students, with adjustments as needed to accommodate individual learning and support needs.
    • A 1:9 staff-to-child ratio.
    • Comprehensive screenings and support services for vision, hearing, dental, health, and more.
    • Provision of breakfast and lunch for all children.
    • Accountability systems to monitor classrooms and ensure adherence to high-quality standards.
