I began my journey with Tarrant City Schools in 1988 as the Family and Consumer Science (AKA Home Ec) teacher at Tarrant High School.
In 2004 I moved to Tarrant Elementary School where I taught Kindergarten until retiring in 2014. After retiring I continued to serve TCS as a long-term sub at TES and TIS (Media Center) and, for the past 4 years as a part-time Reading Interventionist. This year I have come out of retirement to serve Tarrant Elementary School as a full-time Intervention teacher.
I earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Montevallo in Family & Consumer Science and Child Development, and the University of Alabama, Birmingham in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Specialist Endorsement.
I grew up in Birmingham where I graduated from Woodlawn High School. I now live in Clay with my husband David, 2 dogs Scruffy and Oreo, and a fat cat named Socks.
