Mrs. Jaclyn Smith, M.C.D., CCC/SLP
I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Disorders at Auburn University. War Eagle! I have been practicing Speech-Language Pathology for 25 years in various settings, including pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, skilled nursing, hippotherapy and education. I have been at Tarrant High School for the past nine years, and I love interacting with and helping my students. My goal is for them to become more effective and confident communicators whether they are working on articulation or language skills, and to find some joy and smiles along the way. :)
I have been married to my husband, Scott, for 26 years. Together, we have four pretty great children -- Madison, Kathryn, Betsy and Jack. This past summer, we gained a wonderful son-in-law (Daniel) as our oldest got married! I love being a wife and mother, singing, exploring, exercising, creating and enjoying lots of sunshine! I am also the Co-Director of a non-profit creative arts ministry called Poiema. Greek for workmanship, the word poiema is found in Ephesians 2:10. It says "For we are his workmanship (poiema), created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." I believe in the intrinsic value of each individual and work to ensure they know they were made as one-of-a-kind masterpieces!
