Meet Ms.Vicki Kirk May, Math Interventionist

Hello! I am the Math Interventionist at Tarrant Intermediate School, serving students in grades 3-6. With 28 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of teaching multiple grade levels and previously serving as a Reading Interventionist. In that role, I supported thousands of students in becoming stronger, more confident readers.

Although I last taught math 12 years ago, stepping into this role has been both exciting and rewarding. I am rediscovering my love for math alongside my students, and it’s a joy to see them grow in their understanding and confidence. This is my first year at Tarrant Intermediate, and I feel truly blessed to serve both the students and the community.

My classroom is always open—not just to students but to parents as well. I believe that collaboration between school and home is key to student success.

Beyond the classroom, I am a widow, a proud mother of two, and a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren. I am also an award-winning, best-selling author. In my free time, I love reading, hiking, traveling, and spending quality time with my family.
